Nexstar's Networks Division operates The CW Network, NewsNation, multicast network Antenna TV, Rewind TV, and WGN Radio in Chicago.

The CW Network

In October 2022, Nexstar acquired The CW Network, America’s fifth major broadcast network. Nexstar, together with its partner stations, is the nation’s largest local television broadcasting company and the largest CW affiliate group with 37 CW and CW Plus affiliates. This including affiliates in five of the top ten DMAs, accounting for 32 percent of the Network’s national reach.

The CW has been home to some of the most groundbreaking and generation-defining programming in television, from the iconic DC Super Heroes of Greg Berlanti’s Arrowverse series to The Vampire Diaries, including the All American franchise, the original Gossip Girl, Kung Fu, Nikita, Riverdale, and Smallville. The network was also the home of Supernatural, the longest-running live-action fantasy series in U.S. TV history, for 14 of its 15 seasons.

NewsNation

 

NewsNation is the fastest growing national cable news network reaching 70 million television households across the United States. Validated by independent watchdog groups, NewsNation is America’s source for engaging and unbiased news, which reflects the full range of perspectives across the country. The network draws on the local and national expertise of Nexstar’s 5,500 journalists in 110 newsrooms across the country. Antenna TV

Antenna TV, Nexstar Media Inc.’s multicast network, launched on January 1, 2011. It airs in 142 TV markets across the U.S. reaching 91% of TV households including WPIX-TV (11.2) New York, KTLA-TV (5.2) Los Angeles, and WGN-TV (9.2) Chicago. On January 1, 2016, Antenna TV became the new home of “Johnny Carson.”

RewindTV

 

Nexstar Media Inc. launched Rewind TV, a digital subchannel offering a slate of classic television sitcom hits from the 1980s and 1990s, on September 1, 2021.  At its launch, Rewind TV reaches 40 percent of U.S. television households, or nearly 50 million homes, including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.  Rewind TV is available on newly designated or recently vacated digital sub-channels licensed to Nexstar.

Rewind TV’s initial line-up of hit favorites will include: The Drew Carey Show, Murphy Brown, Growing Pains, Wings, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Who’s the Boss, and Family Ties.
