Station Profile

Nexstar has operated KFTA and KNWA since late 2003. KFTA launched its news product in August 2006 when Nexstar secured the FOX affiliation for the station. Nexstar invested in new graphics, music and additional news gathering assets as part of the launch of the station. The station’s syndicated programming includes Two and a Half Men, My Name is Earl, The Office, Friends and TMZ.

Ft. Smith / Fayetteville, AR is in the 96th largest DMA in the United States, with a population of approximately 753,900 and 348,990 television households, as reported by Nielsen Media.

Cable/ADS penetration in the market is estimated to be 84% (43% wired, 41% ADS). The area is home to Wal-Mart, Tyson, JB Hunt and the University of Arkansas. It’s also one of the fastest- growing metropolitan areas in the country.
